App Store Launch Checklist for UAE Businesses

A launch checklist for UAE businesses preparing an iOS app for App Store review, including ownership, privacy, accounts, payments, moderation and release operations.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Start here.

A successful App Store launch requires more than a stable build. The legal owner, developer account, privacy policy, data disclosures, demo access, payment model, moderation tools, metadata and support channels must all agree with the app that Apple reviews.

01

1. Put the product in the right legal account

The company that owns the product should normally own the Apple Developer account. Regulated services and apps handling sensitive information may need to be submitted by the legal entity providing the service.

Confirm legal name, address, agreements, banking details, tax information and the internal person authorized to accept updated terms. An agency should be invited with the required role rather than becoming the permanent owner of the client's app.

02

2. Make privacy answers match the real system

Apple requires a privacy policy URL and accurate answers about data collection and use. Review every analytics SDK, crash reporter, advertising service, payment tool and support platform — not only the code written by the product team.

The UAE data protection framework should also be considered when the product processes personal data. Map what is collected, why it is required, where it goes, who can access it and how a user can request correction or deletion.

  • Collect only data needed for the product's stated purpose
  • Explain permissions in language a user can understand
  • Document third-party SDK behavior
  • Provide a working privacy policy and support contact
  • Align retention and deletion behavior with published promises
03

3. Give App Review a complete path

If the app requires an account, provide an active demo account or a fully featured demonstration mode. Keep backend services live and include instructions for any behavior that is not obvious.

A reviewer should not need to guess how to reach the core feature. If hardware, a QR code, a specific location or a precondition is needed, provide a reliable way to test it and explain it in the review notes.

04

4. Resolve payments and user-generated content early

Digital goods and subscriptions can trigger Apple's in-app purchase rules. Physical goods and services follow a different model. Decide the commercial architecture before building checkout, because changing it at submission can require product and backend work.

Apps with user-generated content need filtering, reporting, blocking and a process for timely responses. These are operational capabilities as well as interface features, so assign responsibility inside the business.

05

5. Prepare a truthful product page

The app name, subtitle, screenshots and description should accurately represent the released build. Do not show features that are unavailable, hide material subscription conditions or use another company's brand without permission.

Prepare English and Arabic store content when the acquisition strategy justifies both. Localization includes screenshots, search language, support content and the experience after installation — not only the description field.

06

6. Launch with monitoring and a response window

Plan who watches crashes, reviews, customer support, backend health and payment failures during the first days. A phased release can reduce risk, but only if the team is ready to interpret the signals and act.

Keep capacity for a corrective update. Even a well-tested product meets new devices, user behavior and production conditions after launch. The launch plan ends when the product is stable in real use, not when the status changes to Ready for Distribution.

DECISION SUPPORT

Questions leaders ask.

01How long does Apple App Review take?

Review time varies, so a responsible plan includes buffer for questions and resubmission. The larger risk is often missing information or a product rule that requires changes, not the review queue itself.

02Can an agency publish the app from its account?

It is technically possible in some situations, but the product company should normally own its developer account and invite the agency. This protects ownership and future operations.

03Does every iOS app need a privacy policy?

Apple requires a privacy policy URL for iOS apps. The policy and App Store privacy answers must accurately describe the app and its third-party services.
